Hank Heron Mascot for the City of Kenmore

This role is all about bringing joy and fun while creating a sense of community in Kenmore!

Some of the meaningful work you will be performing as the Hank Heron Mascot with the City of Kenmore:

All duties you will be performing will be under the supervision and guidance of the Volunteer & Events Supervisor. Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Be the City of Kenmore mascot, Hank Heron!

• Make appearances at City special events, Kenmore businesses and other functions scheduled by the Mascot Committee

• Enhance community events, provide a relatable tool to educate the community about the City's work

• Create community and bring the fun!

• Ambassador for the City of Kenmore

• Ensure regular, predictable, and reliable attendance during scheduled hours

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• You are available to work up to 32 hours per month, with the potential to work more hours. Hours could vary greatly depending on mascot scheduling needs with no guaranteed minimum number of hours.

• You are able to work in the field under normal and inclement weather conditions

• You will be 16 years of age by the start date of March 26, 2024

• You have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

• Due to the restrictions of the costume, the applicants must be:

Note: Trying on the costume will be part of the interview process

PREFERRED

• You have previous mascot, theater, gymnastics, or performance experience

Additional Information:

• Hourly pay rate is $22.00

• With the exception of sick leave, this is a non-benefited position. The start date for this position is flexible, but it is expected that the candidate selected will be able to begin work within two weeks of notification.

• A background check may be required for this position.

• The term of this position is through December 31, 2024.

Physical Requirements:

• Outside in the field with exposure to all weather conditions while wearing the mascot costume. You will be standing, sitting, or walking and navigating uneven and/or steep terrain. You will have assistance from the Mascot Handler.
