Summary The Manager of Applications’ primary responsibility is to ensure the effective operation of all business applications and data integration. The position will integrate new applications into the organization, manage changes to existing applications, and utilize best practices to maintain the organization’s repository of software.
The Manager of Applications will plan, coordinate, and design the operational activities of the Business Applications department and manage IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The role will lead projects and initiatives related to application changes and implementation of new functionality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Manage a team of technology professionals that support all the business applications within the organization, e.g., E-Commerce, Order Management, Supply Chain, Reporting, etc.
- Manage the development of any new software integration and internal systems integration to meet functional requirements and interface specifications.
- Perform and manage the application development and maintenance for Series i (AS400) based, RPG applications.
- Ensure effective communication within the department and with the business; partner with business teams to develop plans and track progress towards goals.
- Review and analyze existing applications effectiveness and efficiency; develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems. Responsible for administration, operations, database maintenance, and security of all applications to ensure effective operation, minimal downtime, and data integrity.
- Manage development and delivery of enterprise reporting.
- Technical lead for all technical integrations and functional delivery of projects and initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership to include coaching, mentoring, teaching, and facilitation; lead change resulting in improved reliability.
- Coordinate analysis and resolution issues on all system upgrades and changes.
- Ensure that new systems and changes are properly tested. Develop and maintain superior test plans by partnering with QA.
- May require hands-on work to support and maintain current systems integration or SQL database development related to application software.
- Work with the IT operations team to deploy applications to required users.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - 4+ years of experience working with E-Commerce platforms and analytic tools, e.g. Shopify
- 3 years of hands-on experience with ETL technologies, API development, and integration methodologies supporting and developing data integrations solutions.
- 2 years of experience leading or managing a team, or a senior-level individual looking for growth in leadership.
- Hands-on experience with designing and developing software applications
- Strong SQL experience
- Must have knowledge of AS400/RPG, NetSuite, Dynamics or similar.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
