What do we need?
We are looking for a talented and proficient Coordinator to join our growing team. The Coordinator assists department with various tasks including, but not limited to, submission of electronic and hard copy billing and follow up with third party carriers for insurance claims. Obtaining third party carrier eligibility, including patient/guarantor contact for payer enrollment. Reviewing and posting allowances, transfers to self-pay and return of accounts to clients.
What will you provide?
- Conduct initial assessment of newly referred accounts and projects
- Assist with special projects such as establishing new client implementation including access to operating and other systems and onboarding new staff
- Investigate and coordinate insurance benefits or medical billing for complex claims across multiple service lines
- Review and understand eligibility of benefits
- Perform quality and quantity audits of complex claims
- Identify and follow-up with payment resources on unpaid and underpaid medical claims. Obtain claim status via the telephone, internet, payer portal and/or fax
- Contact and assist patients or guarantors with enrollment
- Resolve accounts as quickly and accurately as possible, obtaining maximum reimbursement, and perform investigative and follow up activities in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure large balance accounts are worked correctly and timely and produce large balance report for client meetings
- Conduct research, contact patients, and the local affiliates including insurance carriers
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, scanning, and indexing documents and handling any other tasks that are assigned
- Research and verify insurance billing adjustment identification to ensure proper account resolution and act when necessary
- Accurately resolves complex claims
- Identify contractual and administrative adjustments
- Review and post account financial transactions in hospital systems
- Review uploaded and rejected transactions for accuracy and correct posting
- Create and submit clients reports such as Pending Hospital Information
- Attend client meetings and be prepared to contribute information and answer client inquiries
- Liaison for outside entities such as PIP Arbitration vendor or Hospital auditors
- Generate invoice reports and reconcile monthly
- Work independently or as a member of a team to accomplish goals
- Demonstrate excellent customer service, communication skills, creativity, patience, and flexibility
- Follow established organization guidelines to perform job functions while staying abreast of changes in policies
- Correspond with professional affiliations, using appropriate language while following the specific facility and department protocol
- Uphold confidentiality regarding protected health information and adhere to HIPAA regulation
- Interact with all levels of staff
- Cross train in multiple areas and perform all other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Write grammatically correct routine business correspondence
- Speak on a one-on-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain processes, etc.
- Speak clearly and distinctly on the phone with exceptional etiquette
- Collaborate with others on projects and /or special assignments
- Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner, adjusting as circumstances dictate
- Work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimal direction
- Analytical skills and the ability to make appropriate decisions independently
- Complete heavy workload within established time frames
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other desktop software
- Problem solver with the ability to identify issues, provide feedback and follow-up to resolution
- Encourages team members to deliver their best performance, providing expertise and direction when applicable
- Demonstrates ability to learn new systems and processes
- Effective organizational time-management and detail oriented skills to handle multiple tasks and ensure accuracy
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Prior experience in claims processing or medical billing preferred

The US base pay range for this position starts at$19.71/hr. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, training, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, location and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary, a competitive benefits package is offered.
