Director of Marketing
Location: New York Metropolitan Area or Chicago
Salary: $160k-$175k compensation package (salary, bonus)
Job Type: Full-time, remote
The Director of Marketing will oversee a highly collaborative and thriving team at Ragan, a diversified media and training company serving communicators, marketers, and HR professionals.
This candidate MUST have event marketing experience at a business-to-business company and will focus on digital marketing efforts that lead to paid conversions (attendees) for our event and awards business. The right candidate should have experience in email marketing, programmatic advertising campaigns, audience development, social media, database management, email and website analytics, list acquisition and organic growth of customer databases.
This is a traditional marketing position and is not an event logistics position. Please do not apply if you are looking for an event logistics role.
What We Expect of You - Four-year degree in Marketing, Communications, or another relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ paid event marketing experience (conferences, etc).
- Strong leadership and people management experience.
- Revenue accountability.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 3-5 times per year.
- Interest and passion in being part of a fast-growing company.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Responsibilities)- Develop and execute marketing plans for paid conferences and events, based on revenue and expense budgeted.
- Team management and leadership.
- Copy writing (marketing copy) for event websites, ads, and social media.
- Work directly with the database director to analyze programs, generate new leads and increase sales.
- Report and analyze data for all email, ad, and social media campaigns.
- Oversee and execute SEO and SEM efforts for events.
- Develop and execute an ongoing plan for audience development campaigns and database hygiene.
- Collaborate with the creative team on new email campaigns, social media images and website designs.
- Collaborate with the web development team on enhancing the UX experience and optimizing paid conversions.
- Report on revenue and expenses weekly.
- Collaborate with the executive team on yearly budget planning.
