Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) has an exciting opportunity for a
Communications Manager to join the
Marketing Communications team at our Headquarters located in
Carlisle, PA. The Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of both internal and external communications for the growing Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) as a member of the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) team.
The individual will be responsible for creating, leading and managing the overall communications strategy, including employee engagement, senior leadership communications, social media, press releases and media relations, internal and external website tone and content while maintaining consistent brand guidelines and message with a compelling voice for multiple communication channels.
The key focus of this position will be to work closely with the internal communications team, corporate communications, social media lead, as well as external vendors to create content, manage “the message”, support senior leaders, functional leaders, and the IMC to build engagement and a culture of empowerment and innovation amongst employees and for our customers.
The ideal candidate must be an expert at communicating in written, oral, and digital forms, self-motivated and able to handle a large volume of projects that support a variety of stakeholders. They must excel at message development, storytelling and writing with a style that captures the author’s voice and intent, and the audience’s attention. They must be able to lead a team of internal and external communications specialists in order to form and maintain a cohesive communications strategy for our employees, shareholders and customers.
To be successful in this role, the Communications Manager will need to build successful relationships based on confidence and trust with various key collaborators within CCM and across multiple levels, as well as lead a productive and well-aligned team.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Partner closely with the IMC team as well as other functional leads to ensure strategy alignment, consistent delivery of messages internally and externally and clearly articulating our mission and how we create value.
- Develop close relationships with senior leadership, human resources, functional partners, and colleagues in order to manage flow of information for all internal and external stakeholders. Ensure alignment with team members, as well as our brand guidelines, sustainability commitment and core values.
- Lead the team to creatively and purposefully serve as a storytellers, cultivating sources across geographies, demographics and functions to drive inspiring and compelling content and thought leadership.
- Align messaging strategy with corporate communications team for superior message and content development at multiple touchpoints for internal and external stakeholders as well as shareholders.
- Help drive community engagement in local communities across the country where CCM has significant presence.
- Develop and support town halls, human resources and safety communications and lead critical communications collaborative team.
- Influence greater employee engagement and culture commitment with a consistent and planned cadence, ensuring employees are informed, motivated, and inspired.
- Manage the intranet site, content, and other communications platforms for internal communications.
- Furnish reports on communications performance metrics to measure communications engagement and effectiveness to senior leadership.
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge: - Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with the ability to understand and distill technical information, be concise, and capture interest.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of current communications trends and practices.
- Proven skill in using digital/social media to connect with stakeholders through compelling messages and stories.
- Curiosity and genuine interest in learning the business to enhance communications and create new messaging platforms that drive understanding and engagement.
Requirements Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, English, journalism, marketing, or public relations required.
- At least seven years communication experience including a demonstrated ability to produce effective communication strategies.
- Experience in managing both internal and external communications.
- Experience in B2B and/or manufacturing preferred.
