What You'll Do:

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as the top Financial Officer, Business Systems/Reporting, and Compliance Specialist to ensure business goals are attained.

Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  1. Researches, plans and executes on Finance and Accounting strategies to drive the financial goals and meet the annual objectives.
  2. Leads, mentors, and coaches the Accounting team to foster continual growth of skillsets and success of the team.
  3. Oversees the Accounting and Financial activities ensuring accuracy, completeness of data and overall compliance.
  4. Manages the accrual and cash accounting for the various reporting groups, providing accurate reporting and summations to various groups.
  5. Leads and partners with the Auditing team to ensure complete/successful certified audits that will go to the State for school sustainability.
  6. Researches, leads, and executes on opportunities for automation and streamlining to enhance the overall effectiveness of the team.
  7. Plans and provides comprehensive data to help support the Grant process for the various Non-Profit groups.

Position Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred; will consider a combination of education and experience.
  2. Experience: 7+ years of leading the Accounting/Financial aspects for multiple business units, ensuring successful financial outcomes with 5+ years of progressive and proven management experience. Strong experience in developing and leading Business & Finance Strategic Planning.
  3. Certification(s): CPA preferred
  4. Functional Skills: Excellent strategic thinking, with research, developing, planning and executing skills; strong technical accounting, time management and analytical skills, with an attention to details; efficient prioritization and multi-tasking skills; experience in aligning activities that are targeted towards meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual goals. Strong abstract thinking and project management skills to manage various obstacles and opportunities on a regular basis. Compliance focus to manage to the guidance and laws around K-12 schools also needed.
  5. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Excellent Microsoft Office Skillset; ability to learn, manage, and lead new system integrations and reporting programs with other team members.
  6. Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills.
  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Strong leadership and mentoring skills; Innovative, self-directed, with the ability to lead and manage others with ease; excellent collaboration, flexibility and adaptability are also important.
  8. Culture Match Behaviors: Professional in appearance with an e ntrepreneurial spirit who has a drive to create an impact with a commitment to integrity and honesty .

Other Important Information:

Salary : Salary is commensurate with proven expertise.

And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To: The Board

Core Hours: Typically, 8 - 5 pm; hours vary based on projects and workload.

Typical Work Week: M-F; (Some weekends required when applicable); 45 - 50 hours a week on average.

Direct Reports: 5 Employees

Work Conditions: Office environment.

Travel: Limited
