Dunn Lumber Company
Location
Everett, WA | United States
Job description
Since 1907, Dunn Lumber has been a family-owned company operating locally in the Seattle area. As a building materials supplier with nine retail locations, it is our mission to sell and deliver products to contractors, homeowners, DIYers, and everyone in between. We are dedicated to building and maintaining long-term relationships with our customers by providing expert advice and high-quality products.
Benefits include:
Come work for a company where you are a name, not a number! We are looking for employees who want to learn a skillset and be an active part of our culture.
he Delivery Driver position uses a Dunn Lumber vehicle to make safe, accurate, and on time deliveries to job sites in the greater Seattle area. Drivers work closely with Load Builders, Delivery Coordinators, and Dispatch as they load, transport, and unload deliveries from their home yard to local job sites. When driving around and working directly with customers, Delivery Drivers must maintain a friendly and positive demeanor as they represent the entire company while away from the store. The Delivery Driver position is also one that can earn the most overtime, as much of the daily job is dependent on traffic, weather, and jobsite accessibility. During a slow season, Drivers may work at their home branch to assist in the yard, but with our growing business model and increasing demand for delivered goods, this occurrence is rare.
The door truck is a big deal. Specialty Sales doesn't just move a lot of doors, windows & dollars for Dunn Lumber, it creates a unique Driver role. You have to be able to handle unique material; and handle it well. That means safely for yourself, your coworkers and without damaging the material. The truck doesn't require a CDL but the requirements of the job do put the 2 Drivers staffing it on a unique wage path. So - opportunity is there.
This is a Full-Time job working 40 hours per week with overtime eligibility!
The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. As stated above, this position frequently earns overtime as you may finish deliveries late depending on outside factors.
Applicants MUST possess at current driver's license and a clean driving record to qualify for this position. Employees must possess the ability to perform the following duties:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to lift materials that consistently weigh 80-100lbs or more, carry them a short distance, and deliver them to a job site. Additionally, applicants should have good communication skills, be proficient in general computer and smart phone operations, and posses a positive and collaborative attitude.
This is an entry level position with a paid two-week training period and continued learning while employed. The two-week training is completed on site with your supervisor or at a Training Yard with the Training Department. The training for this position will focus on product knowledge, Point of Sale software, and yard operations.
This position is in a yard/retail environment. This position is largely active and requires employees to be on their feet for most of the shift. The noise level is moderate to loud.
