About Us:

Role Overview:
As our Chief Financial Officer, you'll be the strategic visionary leading our finance and accounting team. You'll roll up your sleeves and dive into the day-to-day operations, ensuring sound fiscal management while actively contributing to ongoing projects. Your passion for the arts will drive you as you support our mission and vision, making a tangible impact on our organization's success.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct accounting and financial activities, ensuring robust fiscal administration and internal control procedures.
Manage our business office, overseeing financial procedures and maintaining optimal cash levels.
Supervise and mentor a talented team of finance professionals, including the Controller, Senior Accountant, and Accounting Clerk.
Establish and maintain accounting control over various funds, including donor-restricted and endowment funds.
Prepare, review, and analyze timely financial reports, presenting insights to our dedicated staff and board members.
Partner with HR to manage salary and benefit schedules, fostering a supportive work environment for our team.
Collaborate with executive leadership to set strategic priorities and ensure financial responsibility across all departments.
Oversee investment portfolio management, implementing approved policies and working closely with investment consultants.
Serve as the liaison for our independent audit firm, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Direct the preparation of tax returns and related reports, maintaining adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage contracts, insurance policies, and risk management procedures, safeguarding our organization's interests.
Act as a key liaison to our Finance Committee, Investment Committee, and Audit Committee, fostering open communication and collaboration.

Qualifications:

A strategic leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for the arts.
Strong managerial experience, with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
Proficiency in financial management tools and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills (experience with Financial Edge NXT is a plus).
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with at least 20 years of progressive experience.
CPA certification required, with a preference for candidates with a Master's in Business Administration.
Non-profit or museum experience is preferred, but not required.
