About the Role
We are hiring an Accounting Specialist to focus on Fixed Asset projects within our finance department. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this role will play a key part in maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards related to fixed assets.
Responsibilities
Fixed Asset Management:
- Assist in the tracking and recording of fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Work closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fixed assets in the accounting system
Project Support:
- Collaborate with the finance team on special projects related to fixed assets, including audits, reconciliations, and process improvements.
- Assist in the implementation of new fixed asset management software or systems as needed.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to fixed assets.
- Assist in analyzing and interpreting financial data to support decision-making processes.
- Provide support during internal and external audits as required.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting regulations, and internal controls related to fixed assets.
- Maintain organized documentation and records related to fixed asset transactions and projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments within the organization to obtain necessary information and support for fixed asset projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to fixed asset management preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with fixed asset accounting standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.
