Yard Truck Specialists is an industry-leading truck dealership that specializes in the selling, leasing, refurbishing, and servicing of yard jockey trucks and parts. We sell, lease, rent, repair, and service yard spotters across the mid-Atlantic region. We are hiring  Shop Diesel Mechanic s to work at our new shop at 371 Milroy Road, Harrisburg, PA.   We are open to training the right auto mechanic looking to change industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect engines and follow appropriate procedures
• Manage and maneuver comfortably with heavy equipment
• Lift parts and equipment with hoists or hydraulic jacks
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles
• Perform routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and refilling oil and lubricants
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment and parts
• Test drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience working as a diesel mechanic or diesel technician with heavy equipment or tractor trailers
• Experience with Air, Electric, Hydraulic and Braking systems
• Experience with Cummins and Allison Transmissions
• Experience with Cummins Insite and Allison DOC a plus
• Must have own tools-Training  provided.
