Clark College is seeking a professional with expertise in the surgical technology industry to join our team. We are currently accepting applications for a Tenure-track Surgical Technology Professor who will provide oversight of the program, including the curriculum, collaboration with multiple college services, course scheduling and lead efforts to obtain and maintain national accreditation. Department and college service work is expected with the position (as assigned by the Division or college) to support the institutional mission and goals, foremost being student success and retention. This Tenure-track position begins September 13, 2024 , with an expectation of earlier hire for spring and summer quarters to complete Program Director responsibilities.

FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Instruct all classes as an expert in the discipline using active learning approaches that both engage and facilitate student learning.
- Advise and assist students in their educational and career development.

- Obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification requirements.
- Participate in program, curriculum development and assessment activities.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: - As the Surgical Technology faculty and Program Director, the successful candidate will provide leadership for the Surgical Technology program, maintain third party CAAHEP accreditation, work as practicum coordinator, and provide lab and lecture instruction in the Surgical Technology program.
- Teach additional assignments in other Allied Health courses as necessary.
- Take a leadership role in areas of educational and professional expertise, to include maintaining third party CAAHEP accreditation.
- Work with Program Coordinator to upload all necessary documents to ACEMAPP
- Select and approve appropriate practicum sites
- Provide orientation for on-site supervisors.
- Provide oversight for the practicum experience
- Ensure appropriate and sufficient evaluation of student achievement in the practicum experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Surgical Technologist with a Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education, or related field from a regionally accredited institution OR an Associate's degree with a concentration in surgical technology, from an institution that is accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist certification that is accredited by the National Commission on Certify Agencies (NCCA) Education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program planning.
- Five (5) years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, within the past ten (10) years.
- Serve as Surgical Technology Program Director, maintaining curriculum and supervising program instructors.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
