"This Social Work Intern position will serve on a temporary basis for both the Office of Administrative Courts & the Colorado State Employee Assistance Program. This role will be expected to work 30 hours per week. CSEAP existsto maintain a healthy, productive, statewide workforce and to reduce the direct and indirect costs of performance concerns associated with behavioral health problems through clinical assessment and counseling, referral as appropriate to additional resources, consultation with supervisors and managers, employee coaching services, and workplace wellbeing and conflict management services. This position provides direct delivery of CSEAP services, in accordance with DPA and CSEAP mission and values, and consistent with behavioral health professions’ ethics and standards. This includes addressing the needs of a diverse population by understanding and responding in a culturally responsive manner. The Social Work Intern/Temporary Aide provides support to CSEAP intake staff and assists with projects as assigned. The Office of Administrative Courts (OAC) hears and decides administrative law matters concerning: Workers’ Compensation disputes, public benefits dispute, professional licensing boards involving the denial, revocation, or suspension of a professional license and appeals, and special education disputes. This position provides services to OAC's external customers in accordance with DPA and OAC mission and values, and consistent with behavioral health professions’ ethics and standards. This includes addressing the needs of a diverse population by understanding and responding in a culturally responsive manner. This position assists self-represented litigants in the effective and efficient processing of court cases while educating self-represented litigants on court statutes, rules, policies and procedures within legal limitations to ensure that court cases are handled properly and expeditiously.
A summary of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Intake Services for CSEAP: The Social Work Intern/Temporary aide provides support as follows - answering appointment and crisis calls, directing calls appropriately, including providing basic urgent response and/or scheduling state employees for counseling sessions. This position may engage in basic crisis counseling, referrals to community agencies or services, and assist with financial assistance application requests.
Services for OAC: The Social Work Intern/Temporary aide provides support as follows - answering crisis calls or emails, directing calls appropriately, including providing basic urgent response. This position may engage in basic crisis counseling, and referrals to community agencies or services. This position will also assist self-represented litigants in the effective and efficient processing of court cases while educating self-represented litigants on court statutes, rules, policies and procedures within legal limitations to ensure that court cases are handled properly and expeditiously.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
At least a Bachelor's degree in social work, behavioral health, or counseling field of study OR If enrolled in an applicable degree program, experience in social work, behavioral health, or related field will serve as a substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
