Job description

Summary of Position: Assumes responsibility for the overall nutrition management of patients. Uses The Nutrition Care Process to assess patients, identify patient-focused nutrition prescriptions and interventions and monitor and evaluate as appropriate. Re-assesses patients based on level of nutrition care complexity and Dept. policy. Works with healthcare team to determine required diet and patient education needs. Provides evidence-based nutrition education to patients, families, staff and the community. Interfaces with Diet Office and tray passing personnel. Performs daily patient rounds; appropriately screens patients based on established guidelines and Dept. policy. Maintains complete and appropriate records. Performs other duties as required.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to excellent patient care required. Must be able to use a personal computer and calculator. Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient populations served by this position. Ability to be analytical and self-motivated, ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively as part of a team.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Must be a Registered Dietitian, with current registration through The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). CDN Certification required. Knowledge of Nutrition Care Process encouraged.


Salary Range: $26.19 - $43.01
Pay Grade: 29
Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
