Spring Hill Christian Academy (SHC) serves the K-7 children and families of Spring Hill, Thompson Station and surrounding area in Middle Tennessee. SHC is a private Classical Christian school dedicated to academic excellence from a Biblical worldview. Class sizes are small with an overall focus on cultivating a family-like learning environment.

The mission of SHC is to support parents in raising young men and women that are able to reason, discern, and apply Truth as the Lord leads them to achieve their fullest potential. We are looking for a new principal to join our team and foster a healthy Christian learning environment for our students for the 2024-25 school year Your primary responsibilities will be to lead our education staff, oversee curriculum, administer school policies, and supervise day-to-day school operations.

To succeed in this role, you should be able to make quick decisions under pressure and have a comprehensive understanding of Christian education. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also important skills you should demonstrate as a principal.

You should be able to lead the teaching staff and inspire them to continue honing their skills, ensure that standards are met, and cultivate a loving, positive, engaging environment for the students.

Salary depends on experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day school operations 
• Manage school logistics and budgets
• Set learning goals for students and teachers
• Monitor and report on teacher performance
• Present data from school performance to board members
• Lead school-wide daily assembly
• Teach Bible classes to support classroom learning done by the teachers
• Research new resources and techniques to improve teaching 
• Interview and hire school personnel
• Review and implement school policies 
• Provide guidance and counseling to teachers 
• Handle emergencies and school crises
• Organize school events and assemblies
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for students (e.g. implementing hygiene rules)
• Attend conferences to gain knowledge on current Classical Christian educational trends

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a principal or in a similar role
• Knowledge of school administrative processes and educational regulations
• Hands-on experience with MS Office and education management systems
• Attention to detail
• Great presentation and communication skills
• Crisis management
• Ability to coach and inspire 
• A teaching license is preferred
• Degree in Education; Master’s degree a plus
• Classical Christian education experience a plus
• Experience teaching Latin a plus
