Hahn Legal Group is seeking an experienced attorney in education law and special needs to join our rapidly growing firm.

We seek candidates with experience in disciplinary proceedings or special education matters, including evaluations of IEPs and 504 plans and litigation in state and federal courts.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines related to education law and special needs cases in El Segundo, CA, US.
- Stay up-to-date with state and federal education policies and regulations affecting clients in the region.
- Engage in the administrative law process to represent clients effectively.
- Skillfully draft pleadings and Due Process Complaints tailored to each case's unique circumstances.
- Facilitate client meetings and maintain open communication channels to address their legal needs promptly.
- Formulate legal strategies and advise clients on the best courses of action.
- Guide clients on litigation options and settlement possibilities based on their specific situations.
- Prepare clients thoroughly for hearings and investigations, ensuring they are well-equipped to present their case.
- Evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans to advocate for clients' educational rights.
- Attend hearings with the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) to represent clients effectively.
- Draft and respond to motions as part of the legal proceedings.
- Defend clients in disciplinary hearings and represent them in Title IX matters when necessary.
- Oversee cases from initiation through trial, ensuring a comprehensive and strategic approach to each matter.
Qualifications:
- Must have graduated from an ABA or California-accredited law school and hold active membership with the State Bar of California.
- Should maintain a clean disciplinary record with any State Bar.
- Demonstrated experience of 3-5 years in State and/or Federal Education Law is required.
- Proficient in clear and effective communication.
- Capable of efficiently tracking and meeting minimum billable requirements.
- A strong advocate for teamwork and contributing to the team’s success in achieving its mission.

- Confident, independent, decisive, and willing to be accountable for your decisions.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to visualize the big picture while executing tasks effectively.
