Salary ranges:
Analytical Chemist II - up to 56K/yr
Senior Rnd Chemist - up to 120K/yr
Job Overview:
Analytical Chemist
The Analytical Scientist II position is a laboratory position which involves development and validation of analytical methodology in support to the research projects involving testing of pharmaceutical components and/or drug products. This position also involves designing and completion experiments and providing scientifically sound recommendations based on the data obtained.
Responsibilities:
• Perform and execute multiple instrumentation techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, dissolution equipment, pH measurement, titration, etc.
• Possess knowledge of cGMP and FDA requirements.
• Perform stability testing for GMP and R&D finished products
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in chemistry or related field • Master’s degree (M.S.) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field and at least two (2) to five (5) years experience in pharmaceutical laboratory OR Masters Degree in Chemistry or related field and 0-3 years of experience
Senior Rnd Chemist
The incumbent will conduct pre-formulation and formulation activities for product development of transdermal products.
He/she will be able to review and evaluate current scientific and patent literature for evaluation of formulation components, including active and inactives (excipients, enhancers, film etc.)
He/she will be responsible for evaluation of component materials for compatibility and appropriateness of use, either directly or supervising others in the conduct or performance of testing and evaluation.
He/she will likewise be capable designing, planning and preparing transdermal formulations, including but not limited to feasibility and compatibility experiments, in vitro permeation tests, and other product development experiments, and interprets results.
He/she will be able to supervise staff in the conduct of experiments and collaborate with other transdermal R&D staff members.
Overall background in drug delivery technologies, specifically transdermal, but including all general routes of administration of medications
Transdermal permeation theory and in vitro methods for permeation evaluation (cadaver skin flux experimental technology and methods)
Polymer, adhesive, excipient (enhancer) chemistry
Methods of physical and chemical analysis to support evaluation and selection of raw materials and formulation evaluation and analysis
GMP regulations and documentation
Requirements
PhD less than one year experience
Masters degrees two (2) to four (4) years of experience
Bachelor’s degree four (4) to six (6) years of experience
