Overall Summary
As a service consultant you will be responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by ascertaining vehicle performance problems and service requests; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer records. You will serve as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensuring the customer's needs are understood by the technician and the needed and recommended service/repairs are understood by the customer.

Position: SERVICE ADVISOR / WRITER
Reports To: Service Director
PAY PLAN: $42,000 annual to start, paid weekly with the option to transition to a weekly base plus monthly commission pay plan.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Service Advisor is the face of Wilson County Motors in the Service Department and will be the primary point of contact for any customer coming in for service. The number one priority of the Service Writer is meeting customers on the service lane, attaining customer satisfaction, and having customer vehicles fixed right the first time. The successful candidate will assist the Service Manager in any capacity, including managing the shop when the Service Manager is unavailable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Provide customers with an excellent experience during every visit.
2. Greet customers, listen to their work requests, and record the information that will aid the Technician in making the correct repairs.
3. Review the work order with the customer, explaining the work to be performed in easy-to-understand terms.
4. Ensure every vehicle's completed service is performed to the customer's expectations and aligns with the work order.
5. Will communicate with customers in-person, by phone, by email, and by text messaging.
6. Submit Hyundai Warranty claims as required by the Service Manager.
7. Oversee, review, and manage:
1. Utilization of loaner vehicles
2. Hyundai Surveys / JD Powers
3. Online reviews as necessary
4. Warranty claims
5. Key department metrics (hpro, etc)
6. Hyundai programs that require the department to meet certain metrics
8. Develop new prospects and interacts with existing and new customers to increase sales of products and services.
9. Complete the RO and cash out guests.
10. Complete all training as assigned.
11. Maintain a high standard of professional appearance and a clean, organized work area.
12. Assist with opening/closing the store and property gates.
13. Partner with the Parts Manager as needed.
14. Perform other related duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma, GED certification, or similar
• Ability to use a computer to perform work
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to provide required results from a drug test
• Six-months prior experience in a customer-facing sales or service role
Preferred Qualifications
• Automotive experience a plus
• Prior experience performing Service Advisor for a Hyundai dealership is preferred.
• Proficient with communicating by phone, text, and email
• Dealer Track software experience is preferred but not required

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee Will be standing and walking for up to 80% of the shift with extensive time communicating with customers by telephone, text messaging, and email. May require lifting, pushing, or pulling weights more than 25lbs. Duties will be performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and might perform some work outdoors in various weather conditions.
