Job description
Snelling Staffing is hiring a reliable, trustworthy, and math-knowledgeable candidate to fill a CNC Operator position in Temple, TX.
Shifts:
- Afternoon/2nd Shift (04:00 PM – 02:30 AM, Monday – Thursday)
Pay rate: $18+
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of computer and information systems
- Strong eye for detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- In-depth knowledge of metal machinery
- Excellent reporting and analytical skills
- Excellent understanding of mechanics, mathematics, and chemistry
- Ability to interpret 3D drawings and orthographic projection
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and maintain Swiss-style lathes.
- Use standard machine tools including, but not limited to drill. press, band saw lathe, press breaks, welding equipment, and a variety of hand, electric, and pneumatic tools.
- De-burr parts.
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, CAD files, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
- Operates lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points.
- At times, recover the automation cell from unintentional stops and return the cell to a production-ready status.
- Perform complex set-ups, and edits and operate established and NPI jobs while ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements.
- Work with the engineering department regarding material conditions, best positioning of parts, and tool pressure, as required.
- In addition to lathe machining duties, cross-training may be required to learn and perform other duties as necessary.
- Responsible for machine parts on Mazak lathes(Mazatrol CNC control) This person will perform their set-ups, and operate the machines.
