Job description
This position will be responsible for interface between chemistry and immunology teams designing, synthesizing, and evaluating efficacy of SNAP-TI peptide antigen nanoparticle system in preclinical autoimmunity models. A strong chemistry background is required with familiarity of organic synthesis techniques, with some familiarity with T cell immunology a benefit. The candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of chemists, immunologists, and engineers. The role will be partially laboratory-based, but there will be opportunities for planning, presentation, and strategy with acquired experience.
Key responsibilities include
- Design of peptide antigen drug conjugate nanoparticles and corresponding preclinical animal studies to evaluate efficacy in models of autoimmunity
- Synthesis and purification of peptide antigen conjugate nanoparticles (lab based)
- Analyze acquired data, synthesize findings, and recommend next steps in regular written and oral presentations
Essential knowledge, experience, and skills
- BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry, immunology or related discipline with salary commensurate with experience
- At least 2 years of lab experience related to chemical immunology preferably including:
- Organic synthetic chemistry, HPLC, LC-MS and prep-HPLC (required)
- Peptide synthesis and purification (required)
- Nanoparticle characterization (preferred)
- T cell stimulation assays (preferred)
- The ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
- Experience in data management, analysis, and presentation
Compensation
- Salary commensurate with experience ($65,000–$105,000)
