Job Title: Technical Planning Digitalization Entry /Project Manager
Duration: 9+ months (Possibility of extension)
Location: Greer, SC 29651
Shift: M-F 8-5
Position Purpose:
- This position is specific support for Swoop for replacement of structure planning and 3D layout tool.
- At the moment the structure planners in the department are using Microstation and ProjectWise.
- ProjectWise will get replaced by Swoop.
- We don't need a software developer but we need an implementation lead.
- This person will mainly guide and train the structure planners at this location to guide them through projects with the new software.
- It's part of the whole virtual factory projects.
- Need someone who is can think outside the box because this is completely new.
- Best would be someone who knows the structure planning world, even just a little bit not expert level.
- Supports the strategy of digitalization in Planning-Hub Americas and South Africa.
- Collaborates with internal and external technology providers to identify solutions and drives their implementation.
Experience:
- 6 months of manufacturing experience including electrical mechanical industrial engineering, and project management.
- 6 months of lean manufacturing and innovation experience.
- 6 months of project experience.
- 6 months years of experience in BMW structure planning 3D layout software (Microstation, ProjectWise).
Primary responsibilities
- Supports and implements digitalization and innovation processes.
- Supports digitalization initiatives and projects in the Planning-Hub Americas and South Africa to achieve measurable impacts on key business objectives.
- Supports with steering joint projects with external partners (colleagues, universities, scientific institutes, external service providers).
- Collaborates closely with Expert Teams across central departments and other plants.
- Collaborates with zone resources regarding digitalization projects to have smooth implementation and stable processes in the Planning Hub.
- Helps develop standards and best practice solutions within the planning department and across the digitalization and innovation network.
- Works with the subject matter expert for new technologies and innovations to prepare for the future.
- Communicates activities, processes, and results to stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Creates transparency on all innovation and digitization topics in the Assembly.
- Provides timely information to management regarding digitalization project progress.
- Ensures knowledge transfer and knowledge retention across Assembly departments.
- Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
