Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) is seeking a highly motivated strategic engagement specialist to support CTC's overall Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) contract to the Office Under the Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness, Force Safety and Occupational Health (FSOH). Program Information: The FSOH office provides Department-wide SOH policy direction and guidance, performs SOH program oversight and analysis, and facilitates engagement with the DoD Components and other governmental agencies to further the Department's efforts to mitigate SOH risks. The FSOH office is the primary support for the Defense Safety Oversight Council (DSOC) and all associated Task Forces and Working Groups, including the Joint Safety Council, which focuses on operational safety challenges. This effort includes support to the FSOH office in all its activities supporting senior DoD leader strategic engagements to highlight safety activities and recognize DoD safety leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs principle level work to support client with planning and executing strategic safety engagements for Force Safety and Occupational Health Director and Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness. This includes but is not limited to coordinating and preparing local Washington DC and other Continental US engagements for senior leaders and working directly with DoD VIPs and their staff.
- Provides all protocol and other executive support for the identification, planning, coordination, and execution for safety strategic engagements
- Develops detailed "play-by-play" itineraries for executive travel and events.
- Drafts content for strategic safety engagements including agendas, briefings, read ahead materials, talking points, background, social media, etc.
- Coordinates and finalizes plans, monitoring project/engagement progress, and supporting the event(s) to completion, including any follow up actions and documentation.
- Identifies and supports contingency planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a field providing knowledge and abilities supporting senior leader strategic engagements to highlight safety activities and recognize safety leaders
- Minimum 10 years of directly related experience
- Demonstrated excellent communications, organization, and presentation skills with all levels of staff throughout the DoD.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
- Ability to maintain flexibility and ability to change course quickly if needed.
- Experience in providing project management support, to include demonstrated writing and briefing skills.
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Share Point).
- Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with multi-disciplinary professionals at leadership and staff levels both within and outside the organization.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with military protocol and planning for VIP engagements.
- Experience working in a similar role within the Department of Defense (planning, executive logistics, protocol).
- Experience working with Senior civilian and Service member leaders in the Pentagon or similar “joint” environment.
- Working understanding of Office of Secretary of Defense roles and DoD protocol.
