Job description
This role encompasses extensive training program responsibilities for Petrochoice’s Heath, Environmental, Safety, Quality department (HSEQ), requiring expertise in least one of these areas: Safety/DOT/Environmental.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The Company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time. All work is to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with Company standards. Other duties may be assigned.
Create and update training plans and schedules for driver/warehouse operations, laboratory, manufacturing, and managers in line with EHS and company standards .
- Maintain HSEQ programs and report on related training programs and initiatives.
- Develop and deliver training and work instruction manuals for operations activities and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (such as OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, NFPA, etc.).
- Design, prepare, and deliver educational aids and training for a variety of methods/formats, including classroom, video, elearning, and hands-on training.
- Writing and editing policies, programs, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Actively participate in PC Safety Committee, tracking and ensuring completion of corporate programs, researching and creating guidelines and best practices.
- Oversee company SDS database and HazMat item information via online database (using ISNetWorld).
- Conduct facility and fleet safety audits and investigations, creating related documentation and tracking databases, and following up on items that need attention and sharing ‘lessons learned’ across facilities.
- Manage compliance tracking to ensure adherence to current requirements for areas such as driver safety, hours of service, and company KPIs.
- Track progress, results, and ensure completion of EHS training programs, creating reports and other data for leadership on performance for regions/areas monthly/quarterly, including audits, safety reports, training compliance and other relevant data.
- Makes recommendations for improvements to policies and programs based on current industry information and standards, and carries out changes as approved in a timely manner.
- Identifies areas of training and continuous improvement based on findings from audits, including safety and quality, legal and compliance, efficiency, SOP, best practices, and other areas.
- Managing LMS assignments and existing elearning, loading new courses to the LMS, and monitoring usage/completion.
- Work with training manager to conduct training needs assessments and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
- Promoting available training opportunities to employees and providing related information.
- Identifies areas of training and continuous improvement based on findings from audits, including safety and quality, legal and compliance, efficiency, SOP, best practices, and other areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree, technical degree and/or military experience with 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in writing procedural documentation including SOPs, work instructions, etc.
- Experience conducting safety training for equipment operators; experience conducting train the trainer programs preferred.
- Safety, quality, experience or a combination of DOT/distribution/transportation industry experience or formal safety education preferred.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections; ISO9001 experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Lean 5 or 6Sigma certification is preferred.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, and customers.
MATH ABILITY:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and experience working in an enterprise wide system.
- Experience with IS Net World experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of software reporting/administration experience such as LMS, Fleet Monitoring Dashboards, enterprise resource planning, etc.
