Job Summary:
- · Responsible for duties associated with the recruitment and servicing of physicians and physician extenders.
- · The Physician Recruiter works closely with the President to develop and implement a physician recruitment plan to bring top physician talent to the hospital while supporting market growth strategies.
- Assists Decatur Morgan Hospital owned or managed practices to successfully expand,strengthen and grow while strengthening alliances in the referral area.
- · Demonstrates, through behavior, Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- · Responsible for all physician recruitment for Decatur Morgan Hospital.
- · Works with President to determine and meet recruitment goals for the hospital.
- · Develops and implements an annual recruitment plan including opportunity descriptions, sourcing, site visits and follow up.
- · Identifies, develops and implements strategies for recruiting targeted physicians.
- · Responsible for obtaining necessary documentation for physician candidate’s file.
- · Responsible for the organization of travel arrangements and itineraries for all physicians site visits.
- · Involves coordinating with individual physicians, departments and members of administration.
- · Maintains physician database and files.
- · Maintains constant source of information relating to new physician contacts and takes appropriate and timely measures to recruit these physicians.
- · Establishes procedures to ensure effective efforts in physician recruitment activities.
- · Maintains activity log identifying current and planned recruitment efforts.
- · Investigates all leads for potential candidates.
- · Responsible for the coordination, development, preparation and placement of all necessary physician Recruitment ads in the appropriate medical journals and other advertising media.
- · Checks physician references and credentials.
- · Coordinates physician interview schedules and information-gathering trips.
- · Attends relevant outside seminars and conferences as requested.
- · Works with Medical Schools to set up meetings, lunches, etc.
- · Prepares and presents offer letters
- · Requests contracts from HH legal and processes them through the DMH Contract Office.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
Education:
High School diploma. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, communication, or health care related field preferred.
Experience:
Two – four years of experience, with a minimum of two years’ experience as provider relations representative and/or physician recruiter or equivalent in medical office environment preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of the medical community and familiarity with marketing/public relations techniques, especially sales. Must be familiar with the hospital/group practice and the many services it provides. Ability to work independently.
