Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This a temporary or on-call position. Provides a wide variety of consulting services including conference, seminar or workshop design/presentation; operations review and analysis; project design, completion, coordination or management; or related consulting services. Consultants paid on grant funds must be paid on an hourly or daily basis, with a minimum wage of $12.00 per hour. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

The Office of Financial Aid provides access, aid, and advisory services for the MSU Community to facilitate student recruitment, enrollment, and retention at Michigan State University. The position will report to the Financial Aid Development Manager and will primarily perform the following duties:

Desired Qualifications

Web design/support experience in a multi-coder environment.Experience Oracle enterprise- level databases. Experience with object-oriented languages, C#/Java/Groovy, source control. Ability to interact and manage expectations. Analytical experience of complex application and data relationships. Demonstrated commitment to quality and project timing.Demonstrated ability to document complex systems. Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, problem-solving skills.

Required Application Materials

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related information technology field. 1-3 years of web application development experience in a cross-platform environment. Experience in obtaining and understanding business requests, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical customers. Experience in analysis, design, creation, test and implementation of business systems.
