Cannabis Cultivation Float Lead Job Description
This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production and responsibilities of entry level float crew technicians, while also assisting the Garden Manager and the Cultivation Supervisors with the maintenance and upkeep of cultivation facilities and operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the all-production logs are filled out properly and on-time by Cult. Techs.
- Assist Manager/Supervisors in duties as assigned.
- Provide guidance with organization of work duties and provide direction.
- Provide coverage for Garden Manager or Cultivation Supervisors on days off.
- Ensure compliance to Federal, State, and company regulations, policies, and procedures. (i.e. employee badges)
- Adherence to SOP's / Training of SOP's
- Responsible for oversight of Cultivation Tech duties.
- Ensure and help cultivation techs complete tasks in an organized timely manner.
- Conduct cleaning of work areas
- Assist manager and supervisors in employee performance appraisals.
- Be able to follow production calendar.
- Ability to report and communicate with direct supervisor when problems or issues arise.
- Willingness to obtain certification in Pesticide Application to assist with IPM

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent on the job experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 1+ years of supervisor or management experience
- Prior customer service experience
Competencies, Specialized Skills, or Knowledge unique to this role:
- Must be 21 years old.
- Ability to obtain state credentials to work in cannabis cultivation facility.
- Must possess the horticultural skills to provide proper plant health care & demonstrate knowledge of company SOPs.
- Possess basic mathematical skills.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic computer skills.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and intrapersonal communication skills.
- Prior experience working in agricultural or greenhouse environment.
- Must be able to obtain all State & Local requirements prior to employment.
- Able to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to problem solve and use critical thinking skills.

Expected Hours of Work
- Ability to work Monday - Friday
- Available to work from 2 PM - 10:30 PM
- This is a full-time position that requires but is not limited to, 40 hours per week. Operational hours are dependent on the client and facility operations. This position is required to work weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions
- This job operates in a commercial agriculture setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours
- Ability to use a ladder (up to 12 ft. extension) and general hardware tools needed for common repairs.
Environmental Demands
- Employees must be okay with exposure to pollen, allergens, non-carcinogenic pesticides, dust, odors, extreme heat, artificial light, sun exposure, vibrations, elevated CO2 levels, and water.
