The HR coordinator reports directly to the Director, Human Resources. The HR Coordinator is responsible for the administrative and clerical functions of the HR Department, performing such tasks as maintaining personnel records, creating, and updating employee handbooks, and assisting with employee orientation programs . Other areas of responsibility include support of: employee recruiting and on-boarding, welfare benefits, training and development, records management, and AA/EEO compliance.
Responsible for supporting the HR Team with all administrative tasks within the Department, by performing clerical and administrative duties pertaining to hiring, benefits, paying department invoices, retirement plans, and employee relations .
Responsible for employee-related data and maintaining organized employee records , which includes benefit programs, candidate information, safety records, and medical records.
Act as the first point of contact for employee enquiries on recruitment, training, and policies.
Prepare internal communications.
Prepare job postings and assist with scheduling interviews for non-exempt and exempt positions.
Supports HR Department and Safety Manager with employee and contractor stakeholder.
Supports the Safety Manager with various safety process improvement teams including the monthly Safety Committee and monthly Contractor Committee meetings.
Responsible for coordinating and assist with annual open enrollment meetings.
Ensure performance appraisals are completed along with providing support and assistance to managers as needed.
Supports the HR Team with various committee work and company events throughout the year.
Develop and support relationships with employment agencies, universities, and other recruitment sources.
Coordinates the resolution of specific policy related and procedural problems and inquiries.
Assist with conducting new employee orientations.
Completes special projects by conducting research and surveys, develops and organizes information and makes recommendations to achieve the overall objectives of the project.
Works directly with payroll department to ensure proper administration of benefits and initiates personnel actions that impact employee wages.
Assist with the scheduling of training and development courses both compliant and non -compliant training.

Must be technically knowledgeable and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to prioritize work and follow-up independently.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks while also meeting project commitments and have a strong sense of the employee experience.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all HR information of upmost importance.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Reports directly to the Director, Human Resources; primary responsibility for supporting the following functions within the HR Department: occupational safety, recruiting, benefit programs; and all other HR support duties within the department.
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Equivalent work experience including two to three years’ related HR experience.
Great attention to detail, strong organizational skills, interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft platform.
The hours for this role will be 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday-Friday.
This job will be in-person at our Bridgeport office (600 Lindley Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606).
This role is classified as a non-exempt position with a weekly salary range of $920.90 - $1,123.00.
