POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Energy Analyst will be a member of a team that is responsible for acquiring, validating, and analyzing data about energy.
The Energy Analyst has responsibility for analyzing utility bills and consumption data and responds to demand-side project managers and energy engineer’s requests for research and reporting to support project and customer needs. The energy analyst is responsible for providing reports and documentation, which are communicated within the team and to the customers if necessary.
The candidate will be someone motivated to learn about the industry, our company, our clients, and how to be of value. It is expected that the right person will take the initiative to go above and beyond, particularly in the first ninety days, to learn the business.
Must be someone very Analytical.
Will analyze and manage lots of data, usage, and create financial reporting.
The candidate must know primarily excel, is they know sequel data base will be a plus,
Ideal candidate will have a finance or accounting background.
Must be fully bilingual.
A standard business work week is the expected minimum ( 40 hours) with the core hours of 9AM-5PM being observed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the team with the management of customer utility billing data.
Update and validate utility data for commercial sites and accounts.
Assist with the creation of monthly utility performance reports, consumption, and cost variance analysis.
Create reports as needed for engineering analysis looking for anomalies in data or the behavior of sites concerning energy.
Utilize SQL relational databases and Excel to analyze energy data.
Update and maintain client site specific data (e.g. new store openings, closings, owners/managers, site address, square footage, etc.)
Assist with special projects, and client requests (e.g. audits, site research, etc.)
Ability to analyze data to find and quantify savings opportunities.
Must be able to create Excel spreadsheets that represent an audit of transactions and provide summarization of same.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Able to direct own work and operate independently.
Ability to interact professionally both internally and with clients at all levels within their organizations (from clerks to executives)
Problem solving skills and ability to complete tasks/projects assigned (focus)
Using Microsoft Excel, you must be able to manipulate large amounts of data and create formulas to perform analysis using built-in Excel functions, sorting, lookups, Pivot tables, and graphs.
Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Clear and concise verbal and written communication (email and telephone)
Attention to detail and correctness; finding solutions to problems will be rewarded, not punished.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Accredited bachelor’s degree in a field related to finance, accounting, mathematics, statistics, or other technical or energy-related experience.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in the skills described above is preferred.
Knowledge of SQL queries is considered a plus.
Experience with commercial utility billing, interval data and the utility industry in general is considered a plus.

JOB STANDARDS:
Performance will be based on successful completion of all job functions up to the productivity standards established and directed by Management. You will take direction and assignments from the Operations Manager and/or VP Operations. The employee must maintain standards of quality and quantity similar to that of other energy analysts.
