General Summary of Position:
The Social Media Manager is an operational management role that will oversee all aspects of Goal Zero Social Media. Reporting to the Head of Brand and Product Marketing and working closely with the Creative and eCommerce teams, this position is responsible for growing followers, impressions, engagement and brand sentiment across social platforms and channels to in turn drive demand and sales.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and manage best-in-class social media strategy for Goal Zero -- support marketing campaigns with social programs and content that breaks through to our audience and increases followers and engagement
Identify and establish partnerships with relevant influencers, media outlets, and organizations to amplify the brand's reach.
Collaborate with influencers to reach a wider audience and tap into their followers' trust and loyalty
Create, publish and manage organic content:
Plan and maintain an organic content calendar to ensure a consistent and well-timed posting schedule, including coordinating with other marketing initiatives, channels and promotions to maximize impact
Develop and curate engaging and visually appealing content for social media channels (such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok etc.) that aligns with the brand's identity and resonates with the target audience
Drive and leverage UGC campaigns to build social proof and authenticity
Be the online Voice of Goal Zero: Address customer questions/comments across platforms including Instagram, Amazon.com, etc.
Understand what our consumers think about our Brand, products, and competition; compile, track, and report on consumer sentiment towards our products and brand over time
Continuously measure and optimize performance while also establishing benchmarks and recommending future tests
Work with PR agency and Goal Zero leadership to manage any crisis situations that arise online
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or similar field preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with social media content creation, strategy, and planning
Experience creating frequent, creative, and engaging organic social media content – both video and photo
Proven track record of success in developing social media programs for premium brands, and management of social media communities, with responsibilities in day-to-day management, growth strategies, measurement, engagement campaigns and content strategy
Must have a sense of creativity, light-heartedness, and willingness to take the initiative to create social media content
Must have a collaborative attitude and work well with others in a creative environment
Must be able to show previous/recent work either via separate links or portfolio
Preferred Qualifications:
Scrappy startup mentality
Studio photography experience a bonus
Broadcast/digital media experience and background
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in managing and measuring a variety of ongoing events or campaign-specific social demand generation programs
Driven, motivated, positive, enthusiastic, and energetic
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions:
Regularly required to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time
Regularly required to use a computer and cell phone to communicate via online channels
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
Minimal domestic travel is required
Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
4 days in office required per week
Position to be located at Draper, UT headquarters – no relocation available
