Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Must be able to work in the office. Not a remote position.
- Prepares state, and federal tax returns in UltraTax (990,1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 5500)
- Prepares tax projections for estimates
- Prepares monthly bookkeeping in Quickbooks
- Prepares quarterly payroll tax reports
- Prepares 1099's and W-2's
- Process payroll
- Client Services
- Does Cold Reads
- Prepares Sales and Use tax reports and filing
- Keeps current on all CPE requirements and applicable law changes/updates
- Builds relationships within the firm and encourages staff to do the same
- Is familiar with and supports firm processes and procedures
- Participates in Lifetime Learning program to progress in current role
- Assists in administrative functions and completes other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
Knowledge :
- Federal, state, and local level regulations, proficiency in the use of computer tax preparation, research, and tax planning software programs.
Skills :
- sound judgment, workload management, excellent people skills, outstanding communication skills, initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, efficient, and proficient in Word, Excel, Engagement, and online research
Experience:
- minimum of 1 - 3 years of recent experience in public accounting required.
Exams:
Travel – very little, if any, out-of-town travel
