Job description
As a Project Engineer Intern at Concrete Strategies, you'll be the forefront of construction project management. Your role will involve collaborating with experienced project engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of construction projects.
Note: This internship is for Summer 2024
During your internship, you'll have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to:
- Project Planning: Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets, gaining insights into the strategic aspects of construction management.
- Coordination: Collaborate with superintendents, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Progress Monitoring: Learn to track project progress, update schedules, and report on milestones to ensure that projects are on track and meet deadlines.
- Budget Management: Gain exposure to project cost estimation, budget tracking, and cost analysis, ensuring that projects stay within financial parameters.
- Document Control: Assist in managing project documentation, including contracts, blueprints, change orders, and other essential records.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control processes, ensuring that work meets standards and specifications, and helping to identify and address potential issues.
- Problem Solving: Engage in troubleshooting and finding solutions to challenges that arise during construction, contributing to the project's overall success.
- Safety Compliance: Learn about and promote safety protocols on-site, ensuring the well-being of all personnel and adherence to safety regulations.

Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of construction practices, processes, and terminology.
- Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management software.
- Ability to analyze project plans, data, and specifications to support project execution.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage project documents, schedules, and progress tracking.
- Willingness to identify and address challenges that arise during project execution.
- Collaborative attitude, capable of working closely with cross-functional teams and contractors.
