First Baptist Church is a conservative Southern Baptist Church located in Spring Hill, Tennessee seeking a full time pastor to provide Biblical leadership in the areas of preaching, worship, evangelism, discipleship and pastoral care. The church is looking for a pastor that is a servant leader to a congregation of 175 in worship on Sunday Morning.
The pastor needs to fulfill the Biblical qualifications for an overseer as laid out in 1 Timothy 3: 1-7.
The pastor needs to be able to work with the existing staff to grow the congregation and reach people for Christ.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
5 to 15 yrs pastoral experience with seminary training, exhibit a personal call by God toe ministry in the local church and have a good understanding of Southern Baptist Policy. Must be licensed and ordained as a minister of the gospel of a Southern Baptist Church.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The pastor is responsible for the pulpit ministry of the church.
–The pastor must establish specific office hours and assure the same with the church staff.
–The pastor will be responsible for overseeing the church staff.
–The pastor will moderate the business meetings of the church and lead in the celebration of the ordinances of the church: Baptism and The Lord’s Supper.
–The pastor will be active in the pastoral ministry of the church along side the Deacon Body. (hospital and grieving church members)
–The pastor will follow the constitution and bylaws of the church.
–The pastor is responsible for motivating, equipping and nurturing the people of the church through example, preaching and teaching God’s word.
–The pastor will cooperate with the local Baptist association, state and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern.
–The pastor will advise committees and ministry teams as an ex-officio member.
