Job description
The Electrical Engineering Deptartment of Modjeski and Masters is looking for an entry level Electrical Engineer in Training with 0-3 years of job related experience.
This position can be filled in either our Mechanicsburg PA or Ft Lauderdale FL office. Internship opportunites with a potential of full time employment will be considered .
General Responsibilities - Design electrical control systems for manual, automatic, or remotely controlled movable bridge operations.
- Design power distribution systems for roadway lighting, transportation facility, and movable bridge projects.
- Develop details and wiring diagrams for various electrical components and systems.
- Perform field inspections and evaluations of movable bridge, roadway lighting, and transportation facility electrical systems and write reports based on findings.
- Assist with movable bridge electrical and control system start-up procedures.
Working Conditions - Our hybrid work policy involves a mandatory minimum of two-days per week in-office (presently Tuesday and Wednesday).
- The remaining three weekdays are optional and can be worked in-office or remotely (from home).
- There may be times when more than two-days in office will be required based on project needs.
- Approximately 90 percent of the work is in-office/home with 10% being field work involving travel. Our projects can be located anywhere in the US or internationally which would involve air travel and/or overnight stays.
Education And Qualification Requirements - A minimum of a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Engineering with a concentration in Electrical from an ABET accredited college or university.
- Coursework in Electrical Power, Industrial Controls, and Electric Motors is a plus.
- Successful passing of the E.I.T (F.E.) exam is a plus.
- Submit to and pass a security background check immediately after hiring for access to certain client facilities.
- If hired, obtaining Professional Engineering licensure is required following the state-required experience period.
- Internship level candidates will be working towards a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Engineering with a concentration in Electrical from an ABET accredited college or university.
Skills And Abilities - Familiarity with basic electrical three-phase power calculations.
- Physical capability to climb ladders, stairways, and perform work on walkways and platforms at high elevations on bridge superstructures during field assignments.
- Good command of the English language with good oral and written communication skills.
