Job description
The National Center for Families Learning, a private nonprofit organization located in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Director, Family Engagement to serve as a key part of the leadership team guiding NCFL's 60x30 strategic vision. Specifically, the position works closely with a cross-functional team to ensure family engagement-related programming, associated professional learning, and educational tools are based in research, are effective for a diverse portfolio of communities participating in NCFL's 60x30 vision, and are implemented with quality within NCFL's holistic Family Learning System model.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead overall content development and strategy for NCFL's national family engagement efforts.
- Provide leadership and vision in designing and implementing culturally responsive and research-based family engagement systems, practices, and policies with diverse community partners, such as school districts, practitioners, and community-based organizations.
- Provide leadership on the latest research, innovation, and community needs across the nation in the field of family engagement to ensure NCFL offers high-impact programmatic offerings.
- Lead and support partner relations to create community interest in and scale NCFL's family engagement efforts.
- Manage a team of Family Learning Content Specialists.
- Work closely with NCFL's Research and Evaluation and Professional Learning teams to ensure NCFL's family engagement efforts are being carried out with fidelity and generating evidence of success.
- Support publications efforts by writing and strategizing content for national briefs and reports related to the effectiveness of family engagement.
- Represent NCFL by participating in timely and relevant regional and national presentations including but not limited to conferences and partner convenings.
- Serve as a member of NCFL's senior leadership team to help guide organization-wide policies, culture, and its strategic plan.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree or higher with specialization in Education, Human Services, Family Engagement, or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience in leading educational programming in diverse settings and communities
- Experience working with adults and children, school- and community-based partners
- Ability to understand and analyze data to guide continuous program improvement efforts
- Strong supervision skills
- Exceptional writing skills, ability to conceptualize and communicate ideas, organizational skills, and evidence of effective leadership when working with a team
- Actively contribute to a positive, professional work culture focused on growth, development and learning across departments and teams
- An unwavering belief that all families want the best for their children and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity
- Proven track record of ambitious results in previous roles
- Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve
- Skilled at collaborative action planning and execution
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Ability to travel.
Salary range - $75,000-$85,000
