Senior Project Manager, Business Capabilities
This Senior Project Manager, Business Capabilities role is responsible for the planning, organizational change management and successful delivery of the project portfolio of business capabilities in Gaithersburg including digitalization, global systems, and business processes. This role will represent business requirements and business owners in the management and successful implementation of R&D and Technical Operations capabilities. This role will work closely and represent Gaithersburg stakeholders with Global functions and Global teams to ensure business requirements are met, resources are planned and allocated, and ensure a successful establishment of business capabilities including transformation programs & projects.
- This role will utilize project & change management principles, processes, and tools to focus on driving results; designing strategy, assessing stakeholder impacts and organizational readiness, recommending and/or implementing appropriate communication, and training, and measuring effectiveness to enhance organizational and operational performance.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with key cross functional leaders and project team members locally and globally.
- Consistently report and review progress, escalate risks, facilitate decision making and assess business impact to Gaithersburg Leadership Team and Program Teams and Senior stakeholders.
- Serve as the Gaithersburg liaison across a variety of different projects and transformation initiatives across all our global support functions (IT, Finance, HR, Communications, Compliance, Procurement and Legal) and core functions (R&D, Ops) and develop project delivery strategy to deliver complex programs locally.
- Support and contribute other project managers in the establishment of project management processes and tools locally and by leveraging Global PM capabilities.
- Support other business needs and strategic initiatives as needed in a project management capacity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in science or technical/engineering area or a related field
- Master’s in business administration and/or project management
- 12+ years of experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry in operational and project management roles of increased responsibility
- Experience with strategy development and implementation; good business acumen.
- Proven record of leading and delivering complex projects in a global matrix setting.
- Experience with business transformation programs.
- Proven expertise in effective communications to teams and senior leaders. High level of proficiency using tools like power point and excel for creating presentations to senior leaders and supporting business cases.
- Good understanding and experience on development and implementation of business processes in support of R&D and Manufacturing operations
- PMP and Lean certifications preferred but not required.
- Experience with digitalization programs (preferred).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP) (preferred).
- Experience with Operational systems such as Quality Management Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Laboratory Information Systems (preferred)
- Project Management tools and applications such as Microsoft Project and PowerBI
- Excellent interpersonal (communication and presentation) and organizational skills
- Problem solving abilities and a hands-on can-do attitude
- Confident, proactive self-starters, comfortable in managing and engaging others
- Effective in engaging, partnering with and influencing stakeholders across the matrix up to VP level
- Ability to move fluidly between big picture and detail always keeping the end goal in mind
- Inclination toward collaborative partnership, and able to help establish/be part of high performing teams for impact
- Highly diligent with close eye for detail. Delivers quality outputs
