Job Summary

UT Southwestern is in search of a Facilities Mechanical Engineer for their Utilities and Energy Management department. The Mechanical Engineer works under moderate supervision to provide professional engineering skills for planning, designing, construction, remodeling, and major repair of UT Southwestern Medical Center buildings to include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing documentation.

This position oversees and trains the crew responsible for maintaining and managing HVAC system for the Campus, including ensuring proper and reliable operation of the thermal energy plants and obtaining data for emission inventory. Monitors day-to-day operations and is essential to provide collaborative, proactive, and responsive service to the Campus regarding the HVAC systems that include thermal energy plants. Ensures systems are running at an optimal condition throughout the Campus and includes energy management savings analysis and collecting emission monitoring data for Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The position will coordinate complex projects and reports including major utilities planning, design and construction which requires significant contact with departments and outside organizations.
