Expected work schedule for the Volunteer and Church Engagement Specialist :
- Full- or part-time, flexible schedule
- Occasional evenings and/or weekends for specific events/projects
- Attendance at several conferences each year, including IFI Staff Retreats
Pay structure for a Volunteer and Church Engagement Specialist :
- Pay range is typically between $25,709 and $35,350, based on experience and other factors

Responsibilities of a Volunteer and Church Engagement Specialist
The overall role of the Volunteer and Church Engagement Specialist is connecting volunteers with international students by recruiting, screening, training, matching, engaging, and retaining them and envisioning churches to partner. This role will assist campus staff in Columbus to expand their ministry reach and help strengthen existing and develop new partnerships with local churches and volunteers so that the mission and vision of IFI Columbus will be accomplished and fulfilled.
The Volunteer and Church Engagement Specialist will (list not all inclusive):
- Facilitate Church relations by:
- Creating new church relationships and building relationships with current church partners to share how IFI strategic initiatives will help them make disciples of all nations
- Equipping current church coordinators and pastors to mobilize their congregations to pray, serve, give
- Visiting pastors' meetings, meeting 1-1 with pastors, speaking in local churches, and assisting the Area Directors and CEO with scheduling and conducting speaking engagements
- Recruit, mobilize, train, and retain volunteers by:
- Utilizing the IFI database to send matching emails to students and volunteers and manage programs and activities offered to students
- Maintaining the accuracy of the database for volunteer and student activities, making matches electronically, creating and modifying email templates and forms for activities
- Representing IFI at church fairs and speaking engagements to share the mission/vision of IFI and find potential volunteers
- Work with the Communications Dept to communicate volunteer opportunities via the web, emails, and social media, and update promotional resources such as videos, table banners and flyers
- Ensure training, equipping, resourcing, and mentoring of volunteers for more effective ministry to internationals
- Engage in direct ministry to international students, such as helping at events, hosting, or being a conversation partner (10% of time)
Qualifications/expectations of the Volunteer and Church Engagement Specialist:
- Adherence to IFI's statement of faith, core values, and policies
- Is faithful, loyal and dedicated to IFI's mandate from the Lord to extend God's love globally through equipping Christians to be effective cross-cultural communicators of the Gospel
- Well organized with attention to detail and ability to complete tasks independently
- Ability to work under stress and be flexible
- Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and Google applications
Volunteer and Church Engagement Specialist Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or Sales, or demonstrated advanced level of at least 3 years of similar ministry experience, knowledge, and skills
- Experience in cross-cultural ministry, preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience using an online database, such as Salesforce
