A Day in the Life:
- Serve as the designated safety representative for the supply chain, overseeing and implementing Burlington's safety programs.
- Lead and supervise the Distribution Center network safety management team.
- Identify, anticipate, and address safety and health concerns by assessing environmental, operational, and occupational conditions. Investigate and address safety violations, unsafe acts, near misses, and accidents.
- Manage safety programs including Emergency Preparedness, Lockout, Confined Space, Powered Industrial Trucks, Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, and Fall Protection.
- Conduct hazard assessments and develop comprehensive safety training programs.
- Maintain safety orientation and other Distribution Center-related safety training.
- Lead and participate in Safety Committee activities.
- Conduct regular audits of supply chain operations to ensure compliance and mitigate safety risks.
- Investigate accidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective action plans.
- Communicate effectively with associates, managers, and senior leadership.
- Supervise the Powered Industrial Truck program and operator training.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety policies and procedures to comply with governmental regulations.
- Manage OSHA inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
- Provide budget and forecasting recommendations for safety and compliance programs.
You’ll Come With:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience or training in safety and compliance.
- 5+ years of experience providing workplace safety and compliance training.
- Strong reasoning, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with critical attention to detail and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work with all levels.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
- Self-motivated with flexibility to work a flexible schedule if needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Ability to travel ~20%.
