Job description
Looking to join the #1 Hospital/Healthcare System in Illinois? Our client is a leading provider of world-class medical services and advancing healthcare innovation. They are seeking a talented Senior Accountant who will have an impact on the financials and focus on lease accounting functions for their various assets and medical equipment across their hospitals.
This Senior Accountant – Lease Accounting will play a crucial role in managing lease accounting activities, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 leasing standards and contributing to the financial success of their healthcare system. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a challenging and rewarding environment. The role is budgeted for $90,000-100,000 base salary and is bonus eligible.
Senior Accountant – Lease Accounting Responsibilities:
Execute traditional month end close functions; ensure the accurate and timely financial reporting
Prepare and deliver monthly board presentations on capital expenditures, highlighting key financial metrics and insights
Manage asset transactions, including acquisitions and disposals and compile documentation to support the fair value of acquisitions
Research and resolve unresolved leased asset transactions, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal and procurement, to ensure effective contract management and adherence to lease terms
Support audit processes related to lease accounting and provide necessary documentation to auditors
Evaluate ASC 842 leasing implementations, staying abreast of changes in lease accounting standards and ensuring compliance
Perform variance analysis and analyze data trends
Senior Accountant – Lease Accounting Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
4+ years of accrual based accounting handling core month end close functions
Prior experience working with contracts, vendors or leases is required
Understanding of lease accounting/ASC 842 guidelines strongly preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
