CPNH Program Manager - The Center for Precision Nutrition and Health (CPNH/Center)

Who we are:

in the Division of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) and College of Human Ecology is a multi-disciplinary center that integrates novel approaches in precision nutrition, artificial intelligence (AI), and technology to translate nutrition and health research to policy and practice to improve human health. The Center is growing rapidly, with current annual operating funds of over $1.2M, federally sponsored research awards to date of $8.5M, and approximately 12 employees expected by the end of 2024.

The Division of Nutritional Sciences (the Division) plays a leading role in national and international nutrition research, teaching, and public engagement. Focal areas for faculty research include precision nutrition, metabolism, lifecycle nutrition, microbiome, and nutrient interactions, food and nutrition systems, health equity, and social and behavioral nutrition.

What you will do:

The CPNH is seeking a Program Manager (PM) to partner with the Executive Director to develop, implement, manage, and support programs and operations to advance the mission and activities of the Center. Responsibilities will be in areas including administrative operations, communications, educational programs, proposal development, reporting, and collaboration programs. The PM will also be a member of the DNS administrative staff team and dually report to the CPNH Executive Director and the DNS Executive Director of Administration and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Executive Director to plan and implement strategies for CPNH programs.
• Develop and implement project management plans, track timelines and deadlines, and identify and monitor assessment criteria.
• Facilitate the development of materials, data, and information for sponsors, partners, and institutional leadership. Partner with the Executive Director and co-directors for strategic planning and event planning.
• Organize and staff conferences, reviews, symposia, membership meetings, and other events and meetings.
• Assist the Executive Director in managing positive and effective communications among CPNH internal and external partners.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion , and well-being.

• Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to effectively work independently and in groups, with a high degree of initiative, ability to navigate and build productive working relationships, and to work effectively with a diverse array of individuals.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to write, develop, design, proofread, and edit documents, presentations, and other materials to effectively promote and convey information.
• Exceptional analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively assess situations and investigate and resolve problems, independently and with colleagues/supervisor as appropriate for the situation. Ability to plan and manage projects and timelines.
• Effective organizational, time management, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with project management and productivity tools; ability to quickly become an expert in enterprise information systems to support processes, obtain and convey information; expert knowledge of video communications systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree. Experience with design software and project management tools, and 5 to 7 years of experience.
