Job Summary:
The Paramedic Educator facilitates various responsibilities within the Paramedic Program, including but not limited to delivering classroom lectures, participating in classroom activities, clinical activities, equipment maintenance, and maintaining compliance with student records and skill sessions throughout the RWJBarnabas Health System and program. The Paramedic Educator will report directly to the Paramedic Program Manager. The Paramedic Educator models the expected behaviors, engages staff with professionalism, courtesy, and respect, and supervises the daily operations of education programs within the Training Center.
Essential Functions:
- Consistently demonstrate and support Mobile Health s mission, vision, core values and department service standards
- Demonstrate effective decision-making skills, solves problems, assists in developing departmental processes, attends departmental meetings and represents department as needed for all internal/external interactions
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement in all programs
- Delivers lectures and materials to students in both a classroom and online setting
- Ensures all program content delivery complies with standards and guidelines set forth in NJ state regulations for training as defined in NJAC 8:41A, the National Standard Curriculum, and the RWJ Barnabas Health program curriculum
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to organizational and departmental safety guidelines and procedures. Identify opportunities to improve safety and a healthy work environment
- Communicate with all staff and students with empathy and respect to ensure and maintain a high level of professionalism, employee satisfaction and retention
- Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with management, personnel, staff members and stakeholders to promote cooperation, employee satisfaction and customer service
- Participates in the onboarding of new employees
- Participates in instruction of courses offered by the Training Center as need arises
- Participate in the review and revision of departmental and educational policy
- Participates in standing and ad hoc committees formed by RWJBH and NJOEMS as the need arises
- Takes appropriate measures to work within established budgets
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure:
Required:
- High School Graduate or GED
- 1 Year ALS clinical experience
- American Heart Association BLS Instructor
- American Heart Association ACLS Instructor
- American Heart Association PALS Instructor
- Active NJ Paramedic
Preferred:
- Associate s Degree
- 3- 5 years of Instructor and customer service experience
- NAEMT Instructor
- NAEMSE Instructor Level one
