The Lead Technician will be based in the Emergency Department, performing patient medication histories/reconciliation. Primary job responsibility include verbal communications with patients, family members, health care providers and retail pharmacies. Additional requirements include entry of medication history into electronic chart (Cerner), coverage of other pharmacy areas and education/training of other pharmacy staff. Candidates must possess pharmacy technician certification, strong knowledge of chronic medications, excellent written and verbal communication skills and proof of high service excellence behaviors.

 

The Pharmacy Tech Lead will be working a 7on/7off schedule, Wednesday - Tuesday, 1200p - 1030p.

REQUIRED

  1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia
  2. Three (3) years of health system pharmacy experience OR advanced pharmacy role from an outside institution OR experience as a Pharmacy Technician IV at Northside Hospital with demonstrated proficiency in five identified functional areas such as but not limited to Production/Distribution, Sterile Compounding, Non-Sterile Compounding, Retail Pharmacy, Materials Management/Inventory, Investigational Medications, Patient Assistance Medications, Offsite Practice Medication Management.
  3. Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam recognized by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy with certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
    • In lieu of certification, Pharmacy students with Georgia Board of Pharmacy Intern License with a minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy experience.

PREFERRED

  1. Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician or pharmacy training program.
