Location: Carmel, Indiana; Eagan, Minnesota; Little Rock, Arkansas
The Energy Management System Product Manager is responsible for developing the product vision and roadmaps that enable MISO to deliver on its strategies. You will work across various business, technical, and vendor stakeholders, including MISO leadership, to develop product solutions that will address the urgent and complex challenges facing the electric grid and enable the operator of the future! As our Product Manager , you will also collaborate with systems engineering, software engineering, data services, architecture services, product owners and other teams to enable the product strategy and continually evolve the offering.
Some of the Product Manager responsibilities include:
Develop product roadmaps by collaborating with stakeholders to identify goals and objectives that address system needs across planning horizons
Facilitate, synthesize and sequence strategic inputs into long-range roadmaps that contribute to strategic goals and objectives
Act as a thought leader corporate-wide, advising cross-functional teams to achieve defined strategic objectives furthering MISO’s strategy
Support cross portfolio analysis including demand management, resource allocation, business value, change management, and risk mitigation to mature decision making for portfolio planning
Champion maturing product management best practices and agile principles
Support organization transformation management needs
Leverage product and business outcome metrics to make data-driven decisions for roadmaps and other business purposes
To be a successful EMS Product Manager , we’re looking for the following skills/experiences:
7+ years of relevant work experience
Strong knowledge of Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Market Management System (MMS) operations and integrations
Defining and evaluating technologies, documenting and managing implementation of multi-year roadmaps that meet organizational strategies
Data-driven approach to product development and life cycle management
Track record of maturing and standardizing Product Management principals across an organization
Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Understanding of and experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks
Familiarity with road mapping tools, such as Aha! (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in related field; MBA or MS degree (preferred but not required)
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
