FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Dean of Student Services
Work Hours/Days : 8-10 hours per week during the school year
Desired Start Date : Immediately
Salary Range: $20-24 hourly

We are looking for a Special Education Case Manager Assistant who can assist with the Student Services Department's reporting and compliance tasks.
Located in Brighton, CO, just 3 miles from I-25, Ascent Classical of Northern Denver is a growing school of over 200 students that currently offers grades K-7 with plans to expand to K-12 by adding one grade per year.

This is an onsite position based in our school.
Requirements:
- Support the mission and vision of Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver and the ideals of classical, liberal arts education and its value in the development and formation of young people.
- Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government
- Degree in Special Education
- Familiarity with special education school reporting requirements in Colorado
- School Experience Preferred
- Ability to develop positive and professional relationships with team members
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- After an offer is accepted, a satisfactory background check is required by state law and Colorado Department of Education
- Adherence to all school policies.
Essential Functions:
- Provide advance Notice of Meetings to the Dean of Student Services 8-10 calendar days in advance of required IEP meetings and document all responses
- Ensure and confirm that each student has a special education or 504 folder. Use the Powerschool and Enrich systems and contact the Dean of Student Services if information is missing or incomplete
- Verify that each IEP and 504 plan and documentation is current
- Maintain the Student Services Calendar with regard to IEP and 504 due dates and meetings
- Maintain copies of the required documentation for each 504 and IEP in students' files
- Create management documents such as Student IEP goals, minutes, and primary providers
- Assist in scheduling school based assessments and ensuring that all materials are available including materials needed for students with accommodations
- Assist in end-of-the-year data collection for compliance and funding
- Participate in the case management process as needed
- Protect confidentiality of all student records
- Perform related duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to traverse the classroom and school building
Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools, Inc. (ACACS) is a network of public charter schools in Colorado comprised of four campuses. The governing Board of Directors at ACACS has contracted with Minga Education Group (MEG) to provide employment services for all staff at ACACS.
