To thrive in this role, you'll possess:
Bachelor's degree: Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or related field.
3-4 years of product or project development with 2 years as a Scrum Master*
Experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as Microsoft Azure Ops, JIRA, or Rally
In-depth understanding of Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
Exceptional facilitation skills: Master the art of guiding productive discussions, resolving conflicts, and fostering team dynamics.
Agile mindset: Embrace transparency, continuous improvement, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Ability work on site in La Crosse, WI. Will consider remote options for those who reside in WI, MN, or IA only.
*Note: We do have varying levels of Scrum Master openings and have the ability to make offers based on existing experience.

The Scrum Master has primary responsibility to empower Scrum teams to be high performing, delivering business value through their development and execution of work activities, and facilitate initiatives of varying complexity from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with Agile Scrum and/or Kanban practices. They will remove impediments to delivery through the proactive management of external dependencies, team problem solving and the development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges. The Scrum Master must be highly effective in communication with all stakeholders, including operational and business leads, Product Owner and Developers. The Scrum Master will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment and have a thirst for knowledge and continuous improvement. Scrum Master II’s can lead as many as 2 complex, strategic, enterprise-wide solutions using advanced concepts and tools or multiple more simplistic teams and solutions.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Leads and manages as many as two complex, strategic, enterprise-wide solutions using advanced concepts and tools or multiple more simplistic teams and solutions
2. Responsible for daily management of the scrum team
3. Establishes and facilitates scrum ceremonies
4. Collaborates with the Product Owner on backlog refinement
5. Coordinates the activities of the team as it relates to writing and estimating user stories
6. Establishes team capacity and velocity and manages sprints accordingly
7. Establishes team level Definition of Ready and Definition of Done
8. Aligns priorities for the team during daily standup, backlog refinement
9. Removes impediments for the team, identifies and manages dependencies
10. Works with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role
11. Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization
12. Establishes and communicates team level metrics
13. Mentors and assesses development of Scrum Master Level I’s and less experienced II’s. Assists functional managers with orientation, training, coaching, and counseling lower level and less experienced scrum masters for their professional development.
14. Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
15. Other duties as assigned
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Engineering or a related field
Work Experience:
REQUIRED
3-4 years of product or project development experience with 2 years as a Scrum Master
Prefer experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps, JIRA, or Rally
Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
License and Certifications:
REQUIRED
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP).
GHS Change Agent certification within one year of hire
