Physical Therapist
COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES PART TIME – EXEMPT General summary : As a member of the complex care and healthy aging team, the physical therapist will support adults with SPMI in enhancing safety, improving mobility and managing pain.
Essential Responsibilities: - Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms
- Diagnose movement dysfunction and develop a treatment plan
- Teach patients how to properly use therapeutic exercise techniques
- Provide stimulation or massage to promote healing
- Assist patients with the use of equipment such as wheelchairs or walkers
- Maintain patient records and keep track of goals and progress
- Advise the patient and family about in-home treatment options and exercises
- Assist clients in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives
Additional Responsibilities: - Attend all agency/department required training and meetings within the prescribed period.
- Attend all Safety Training programs and be able to describe his/her responsibilities related to the general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards and responsibilities.
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

Certifications, Licenses Requirements: - Active Physical Therapy license in Rhode Island.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.
