Job description

Description

+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the hospital, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

+ Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

+ Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

+ Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management regarding financial performance and trends.

+ Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets, providing guidance on financial matters as needed.

+ Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

+ Reconcile bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.

+ Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory standards, and internal policies and procedures.

+ Utilize PeopleSoft software for financial transactions, reporting, and analysis.

+ Provide support during external audits and assist in the implementation of audit recommendations.

+ Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards, recommending process improvements as necessary.

+ Train and mentor junior staff members on accounting principles, software usage, and best practices.

+ Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or relevant certification preferred.

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.

+ Proficiency in PeopleSoft software is highly desirable.

+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including debits and credits.

+ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.

+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

+ Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
