The Billing Specialist at ASTEC is responsible for reviewing and validating invoices against sales orders, shipping documents, and customer information. They handle customer inquiries, resolving them directly or escalating as needed. This role oversees transactional activities in the invoicing process and actively resolves customer billing issues through correspondence and negotiation. The Billing Coordinator collaborates with management to develop effective solutions that meet customer needs.
What You'll Do: - Maintain customer relationships, analyze customer information, and invoice customers.
- Escalate and resolve customer billing inquiries promptly to meet company DSO goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate internally to discuss and address account resolutions, preventing future discrepancies.
- Provide feedback, correspondence, and negotiation regarding customer adjustments and deductions.
- Perform month-end tasks, review AR activities, and assist with audits.
- Liaise with the AR function to communicate deposits and relevant customer information impacting billing.
- Understand AR function, key policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct quality assurance on transactional activities.

What We Need from You: - Two years of college or technical school accounting courses; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in PCs and Microsoft Office programs. Oracle experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated dependability and a high level of accuracy in work.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to assist with other projects as needed.
