The Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility, Johnson County's sole provider of Pediatric Intensive Care and a Level II Trauma Center. What You Will Do in This Role:
As the RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge) , you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. Your responsibilities include:
- π₯ Assisting with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- π Participating in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other members of the management team.
- π₯ Collaborating with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- π Supporting a patient-first philosophy and engaging in service recovery when necessary.
- πΌ Providing recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommending and implementing courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
- πΌ Assisting with staff scheduling and managing all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- π Supporting proper inventory control and assisting with managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should have:
- π Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- π Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- π Registered Nurse Diploma.
- π Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- π₯ Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- π₯ Activity in professional organizations encouraged.
- π₯ Two (2) years of clinical practice with higher acuity patients (ICU, CVICU, Neuro trauma, and PCU) or Cardiac AND 2 yrs leadership/management experience in the same areas.
