Position Summary

The Collection and Exhibit Coordinator works under the supervision of the Museum Manager utilizing independent judgment frequently. The primary responsibility of this position is collections management, including but not limited to documentation, inventory, record keeping, public access, loans, accessioning, risk management, and implementing museum standards of care to collections. Additionally, the Collection and Exhibit Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the maintenance, design, installation, and evaluation of all outdoor interpretive signs, and museum exhibits for Mound House and the Town of Fort Myers Beach. The position requires regular travel between the Mound House and offsite collection storage facilities. The position will develop educational programs for Town residents and the Southwest Florida public on collection care, as well as work with the education staff to develop and implement programs related to the collection. This position also provides administrative, research, outreach, and project support to the Mound House staff as needed. This position would include limited coverage of the Museum Store in the selling of tickets and assisting visitors as needed. This position requires a varying schedule including nights and weekends.
