Primary duties and responsibilities:
Monitors progress of and intervenes in the course of chronic illnesses, using policies and protocols for guidance.
Inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases, prescribes medications or administers treatment to acute and chronically ill patients, and performs minor surgery as training and competency allow.
Performs routine physical exams of patients to determine the control or status of chronic conditions and diagnose new conditions.
Evaluates patients for the necessity of specialty referral consultations inside or outside.
The institution and reviews said to consult reports for the recommendations, approving or disapproving accordingly.
Orders and reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray, and other diagnostic testing as appropriate.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) facilitates the completion of medical reclassification and requests for non-formulary medications as necessary.
Performs routine and emergency medical care for patients as scheduled.
Examines, diagnoses, and treats patients within their scope of practice, as identified by the State of Ohio Nursing Board, as applicable.
Conducts rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO.
Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accept suggestions, redirection, and Guidance.
